Wes Anderson has done it again, creating something entirely his own, while still paying tribute to some of his favorites (I even noticed a shot eerily similar to a famous moment in Citizen Kane). It is funny, smart, meticulously crafted, and while it has some serious themes/undertones, it never loses its sense of fun. But unless you’re a huge fan of Anderson, no need to rush out to see it, as it’s not the kind of film that necessarily demands a theater viewing (though the details will be undeniably more beautiful in a larger format.
